Christine has been traveling to East Africa and planning luxury safaris since 1992. She was instrumental in developing the concept and operations of custom travel to the private bush homes, lodges and tented camps of Kenya and Tanzania. After a hiatus of raising children, she is back in the game and looks forward to collaborating with you on your safari adventure!

I am humbled to have visited this incredible continent, let alone share it with others. Africa touches my soul in a deep and primal way. When I am there, I see it in my eyes and feel it in my body. My connection to this land is not just because of the animals, it's the beauty, the smells, the sounds, the sights and it's amazing people - Africa is a feast for your senses.

It is my responsibility to help you get the most out of your travel dollars with the biggest bang and value along with honoring your precious resource of time. Sustainable conservation tourism is at the heart of our mission. I guarantee you will feel the impact while seeing it in action and walk away with deep gratitude knowing you participated in this truly unique way of travel.

  • "Dear Christine & Foster, thank you for one of the most amazing experiences of my life! This was my Fifth trip to Africa, but by far, the best! The concierge service, the cooks, the guides, the staff all were a part of getting to know the culture with a full immersion experience, and we saw sights that will forever be engraved on my brain. Thank you both for the effort put into making this week so memorable."

  • "The Portal created an absolutely extraordinary safari experience! From start to finish, they took care of every detail, making the entire journey seamless and unforgettable. Honestly, they should consider rebranding as the ‘Badass Safari Company’—they truly set the bar for adventure and excellence!""

    —Chrissy & Mike, 2023

  • Hippos produce their own natural sunscreen! Their skin secretes a reddish-orange oily substance often called “blood sweat” - though it’s neither blood nor sweat. This secretion acts as a natural sunscreen and antibacterial layer, protecting their sensitive skin from the harsh African sun and infections while they spend hours in and out of the water. Even cooler: This secretion contains pigments that absorb UV light, helping prevent sunburn. Nature’s own SPF!
